Role of extra-curricular activities in school

We all know about  the age-old proverb  ‘All work and no  play makes  Jack a  dull boy’.   Administrators of schools have realized this already and that has led to the emergence of a new form of education which now far surpasses the periphery of a school classroom. This revolutionary form of education aims at integrating three major domains of education; i.e. emotional learning, psychomotor learning and reasoning with the school’s regular curriculum. When certain activities are undertaken by students that are beyond the regular school curriculum, those activities are labelled as ‘extra-curricular’ activities.

In present times, every good school will encourage students to get involved in ‘extra-curricular’ activities. Some prominent examples of extra-curricular activities are social clubs, S.U.P.W, Sports team, Drawing classes, skit clubs, social clubs, student’s government, internships, volunteering etc. These are in-campus activities and are optional. These activities do not disrupt the flow of normal school activities or regular school curriculum…

According to the latest research, extra-curricular activities can play a major role in a student’s life. The many benefits that these activities bring for students may be discussed below:
